Manchester United must and should have a striker who delivers in the Premier League. That’s what this season is all about, the Premier League. To fight his way back into position to play for the tickets to European games (and titles), Ruben Amorim will have to show a completely different attacking football. This means not least scoring from the striker position. With Cunha and Mbeumo in attack, United will have a completely different punch, but the pure striker who creates the extra scoring chances – and puts it in the net – needs to be in place. Now comes very exciting messages from Germany.

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has been linked to Manchester United in recent weeks, without much enthusiasm, but the latest news from the Bundesliga opens a door we like.

According to German journalist Christopher Michel, United have sent signals that they are ready to intensify their pursuit of star striker Benjamin Sesko. The journalist also points out that United could have an advantage in the form of recruitment director Christopher Vivell knowing Sesko well. This is a striker United have been following for a long time.

Arsenal have tried to bring Sesko to the Emirates for the past year, but end up with ViKtor Gyökeres (if everything doesn’t collapse in the last round). This means that Sesko is already defined by the Premier League’s second-best club as optimal for the Premier League.

For Manchester United, this will be a feat of selling enough players to meet the price tag of up to €80 million, but a Sesko signing on top of Cunha and Mbeumo will create an optimism in the Manchester United supporters everyone in and around the club needs.
