London club Tottenham now have in Roberto de Zerbi their third manager of the season after Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor have both been sacked.

His time at Tottenham he turned out to be just a parenthesis in one or so very successful managerial career for Danish Thomas Frank. – The criticism he received after his short time (38 games in just over seven months) at Tottenham was mainly that he took the recipe with him from Brentford without considering the player material and culture he encountered at his new club.

Thomas Frank top candidate for the Crystal Palace job

According to Football Insider, Thomas Frank is the favourite to take over Crystal Palace. – Several betting companies have Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on their lists of possible candidates, but at high odds, which means very unlikely.

The Dane has been linked with Palace almost since he was sacked at Tottenham. And now Football Insider reports that he is also the first choice to lead the Premier League club next season. Crystal Palace have reportedly started thorough investigations into Thomas Frank, with the aim of whether he is the right man to take over what manager Oliver Glasner has managed to build. (until he got bored a couple of months ago)

Not looking at Tottenham, but at the Brentford era:

The Dane spent almost seven years at the Gtech Community Stadium, where he led the Bees to establishment in the Premier League, before making the move to Tottenham last summer.

Thomas Frank Brentford
Victories 136
Draws 71
Losses 110
Goals scored 527
Goals conceded 418

There is little doubt that the stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was a massive failure.

Frank let the Lilywhites struggle in the relegation battle after only seven wins in 26 Premier League games as boss – only two of which came at home.

In many ways, the budget and underdog image of Crystal Palace and Brentford that Thomas Frank led up to the Premier League are similar to each other.

As of today, Oliver Glasner is the manager of Palace, but it has long been clear that the Austrian will not extend his contract. He will leave the club when the season is over.

Several media outlets refer to a possible collaboration between Frank and Palace as a “perfect match”.

Palace have also reportedly considered Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, who is reportedly set to step down in the summer. But recently, Sky Sports reported that the Spaniard is not interested in swapping Bournemouth for Palace.

Football Insider also mentions Sean Dyche as an option.

Thomas Frank (52) has previously had great success in the Premier League with Brentford, which also earned him the move to Tottenham this summer. At Tottenham, however, there was short-lived success – in February he was sacked.
