Ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League game for Tottenham, The Telegraph claims Spurs management is giving Igor Tudor the next four games to show he is the right coach for the final games that could send the club down to the second division. With Alexander Sørloth in super scoring form at Atletico in two of the games, things could look bleak for Tudor. It is not candidates who are ready to throw themselves into the job to save Tottenham.

Former Man Utd chief scout Mick Brown sums up the analysis: “There’s no shortage of people showing up,” Brown tells Football-Insider.

“Glenn Hoddle has said he would take on the job, Harry Redknapp has said he would be open to it, and Tim Sherwood has said exactly the same thing,” Brown said of the three former Spurs managers (two of them also former players).

As with several others, he was surprised when the choice fell on Igor Tudor.

“I’m surprised they didn’t choose an experienced option earlier when it comes to knowing the Premier League and how to get out of this kind of situation. The advantage of having people like that, experienced managers who have been there before, is that they know the club and they know the fans. It’s easier to get people on your side and pull in the right direction when you don’t immediately have fans questioning why you’ve been brought in,” Brown says of the situation at Tottenham.
