Rashford is beaming, Hansi Flick pulls out one superlative after another to pay tribute to the England international. A permanent move to Barcelona seems like the most natural thing to do, but hard work is being done to get Rashford to change his mind.

Most has been written and said about Marcus Rashford’s last two seasons with Manchester United. The supporters are disappointed, neither Ten Hag nor Ruben Amorim have fully benefited from one of the club’s highest-paid players. This summer, it was ready for rental to Barcelona. Here, the 28-year-old has once again found his way back to sparkling good football and a ticket to the England national team, perfectly timed one year before the World Cup finals.

Barcelona have been impressed by Rashford’s versatility and assists, which has led Hansi Flick to personally support the transfer of club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco. The biggest obstacle, however, remains Rashford’s salary. After signing a lucrative new contract with Man United in the summer of 2023, the Englishman’s salary significantly exceeds Barcelona’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) limits.

Several clubs are lining up to take advantage of the opportunity if Rashford and Barca do not agree. El National reported earlier in the month that Tottenham had knocked on Rasford’s representatives, to open the door for a return to the Premier League. According to the inky Fichajes, PSG are ready with around 50 million euros to lure the star to Ligue 1. PSG have been linked with Rashford even before he fell out with United, here there is hardly any talk of offering a reduced basic salary.

So far, Rashford has 6 goals and 9 assists in 17 games in a Barca shirt.
