Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have once again taken the Premier League title. Now it’s about continuing at the same pace – and increasing to catch up with Liverpool’s lead. It is therefore very unfitting that an impatient La Liga giant is on the prowl to secure one of Arsenal’s key players.

William Saliba has been linked to Real Madrid for the past year. Nothing new there, but with Ancelotti’s injury problems in defence, Saliba signing has moved up as a top priority for the royal club.

The world record for signing a defender is around €90 million for United’s Harry Maguire and City’s Josko Gvardiol, according to Spanish Sport, Real Madrid are now ready to enter into negotiations with Arsenal that could make William Saliba the world’s most expensive defender at at least €100 million.

The Spanish media claims Real have been in contact with Saliba’s representatives and received positive signals.
