Chelsea have slapped a €200 million price tag around Cole Palmer’s head in an attempt to stave off interest from Real Madrid.

There have been growing reports in recent weeks that Madrid want to make Palmer their next Galactico signing in 2025.

The last time Real Madrid bought a Galactico from Chelsea, it didn’t go so well. – Belgian Eden Hazard, who was brilliant for “the blues”, became one of the biggest flops of all time for Real Madrid.

According to Spanish media, Chelsea have no intention of selling Palmer and are demanding €200 million from the Champions League winners to consider a sale. That would make Palmer Chelsea’s record sales.

The 22-year-old left Manchester City for Chelsea for €47 million in the summer of 2023, and he has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since moving to Stamford Bridge. This season, Palmer has been in inspired form, delivering 11 goals and six assists in the Premier League to lead Chelsea up to second place in the table.

Palmer now has a brilliant 50 goal contributions in 48 appearances since joining Chelsea, while he was recently named England’s Men’s Player of the Year for 2023-24. Palmer put in a brilliant display in Chelsea’s 4-3 win over Tottenham in the London derby on Sunday.

He scored twice from the penalty spot and also delivered a sumptuous pass to Enzo Fernandez’s goal.

His performances have led to Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea moving up to second place in the Premier League and the closest challengers to leaders Liverpool.

He has been picked up 11 times by England and scored two goals. Palmer scored England’s equaliser in the Euro 2024 final, but Spain won 2-1.
