When you are brought in as a savior for a relegation candidate, you as a coach know that it is urgent to reverse the negative trend. Still, the Argentine Diego Cocca hardly imagined that he would be tipped out after only eight games.
Real Valladolid brought in Cocca in December to correct the course, which pointed straight to relegation from La Liga. The Argentine has a background in Mexican and Argentine football, but couldn’t crack the La Liga code fast enough.
With last place, seven points up on the club above in the table, Cocca is fired. Seven losses and a poor win in eight games were not enough.
The next man to try out is reserve team coach Alvaro Rubio. At least he has a job to return to at the club if the losing streak continues.
