Although United legend Gary Neville wants a Thomas Tuchel, Carlo Ancelotti, or Mauricio Pochettino, all of whom have the weight to handle the extreme pressure as Man Utd manager, one candidate has stood out in the English media as the favourite to take over the reins from Amorim, Fletcher and Carrick this summer: Oliver Glasner. The German has nevertheless had a sensational week that could end in the sacking. Immediately, yes!

“I feel like we’ve been completely let down. I can’t play with very many players. They did everything they could, and it’s been that way for weeks and months now.” This was Glasner’s comment after the 2-1 loss to Sunderland on Saturday.

This comes a few days after Glasner confirmed he will leave the Premier League club in the summer when his contract expires.

According to Sky Sports , Palace chairman Steve Parish was furious with Glasner’s statements after the Sunderland game, now Palace management is considering sacking Glasner outright.

Management was already unhappy with Glasner’s statement on Friday:

“It’s not the best move when you hear the day before the game that your captain will leave and not travel with you, but we have other players who will step in today. The atmosphere yesterday during training was good,” the Palace manager said dryly.

The German has led Palace to historic FA Cup titles and victory against Liverpool in the Community Shield. In addition, many highlights for Palace supporters in the Premier League, where the German has sunk the big clubs.

We called Ruben Amorim’s statements after United’s Leeds game as “tailor-made to be sacked”. It also happened the next day. We get a bit of déjà vu when we now see what is unfolding between Glasner and the Palace management.
