In the stands, Tottenham supporters have alternated between a pipe concert aimed at Thomas Frank and singing about how much they want Mauricio Pochettino back. Now Frank is history and Pochettino has given clear signals he wants to return. Roberto de Zerbi is unemployed and also interested in the Spurs job, but there is one signing campaign in particular that suggests that it is Pochettino who will lead Spurs next season.
As coach of the United States, Pochettino has developed a particularly close relationship with captain Christian Pulisic. The 27-year-old has lifted his career with excellent match form since his move to AC Milan from Chelsea in 2023. In the first two seasons, the American was involved in 20 goals each. Over the past two and a half years, no player in Serie A has produced more goals and assists combined, a statistic that has lifted him up the list of Europe’s sharpest attacking players.

According to Teamtalk’s sources , Pulisic’s representatives have informed Milan they will investigate the market, and the response has been immediate. The sources claim Tottenham Hotspur have shown concrete interest in bringing the USMNT captain back to London.
Intermediaries have also held talks with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, although the strongest and most proactive interest at this stage comes from Tottenham – which is fascinating as former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is one of the favourites to return as manager this summer. Pochettino and Pulisic have built a very strong relationship while working together at the USMNT.
