Enter Postecoglou. Thomas Frank. The whole bucket ballet of coaches has come and gone between 2019 and 2026. Tottenham have had their successful periods with this high-profile group as coaches, but continuity and long-term development, it disappeared out the gate with Mauricio Pochettino. For many, the Tottenham management now has only one thing to do.
And that is: Persuade US national team coach Mauricio Pochettino after the World Cup finals this summer to return to Tottenham. Pochettino himself has previously opened up about returning: “I would like to come back one day. It will always be a special club for me.” This is what Mauricio Pochettino said in 2024 about the club that tipped him out seven months after he led the club to a historic Champions League final.

)according to Caughtoffside’s sources, Tottenham management has Pochettino as the strongest, potential replacement for Frank. His emotional attachment to the club is underlined, with the emphasis on the fact that the Argentine, who lifted Tottenham in the Premier League and led Spurs to the Champions League final in 2019, still has immense support among supporters.
It also gives Spurs supporters hope of reuniting with “their” Pochettino, after the Argentine submitted a thinly veiled job application through the BBC in December 2025.
-… I want to win both the Premier League and the Champions League. We were close when we played against Tottenham. I want to achieve it. I am still young and I have the energy, experience and motivation to try again in the future,” Pochettino told the BBC.
We are more than happy to take another round with Pochettino as Tottenham coach. For Tottenham, it looks like the only right choice after trying “everything”.
