The Tottenham players seemed a little empty and unfocused on Monday against Nottingham Forest. Thursday was a hectic and exhausting day in Frankfurt with progress in the Europa League against Eintracht, but for the Spurs manager, Monday’s loss was part of a negative pattern.

Tottenham supporters were high after their ticket to the Europa League semi-finals was secured, but were back to Premier League mud with a 1-2 loss to Forest. In a little over a week, this team will stop the yellow horde of Bodø/Glimt players and supporters.

Postecoglou admits that the loss to Forest was a repeat of games throughout the season Tottenham should have won.

“It’s disappointing, another disappointing defeat. A defeat that was largely self-inflicted, Ange Postecoglou begins to the BBC.

“We conceded two stupid goals and gave ourselves a mountain to climb. I don’t think we deserved to lose when you look at the balance of the game. Our football was good, you can’t deny that. We created a lot of opportunities. But as I said, it was really disappointing to concede two goals like we did, the coach continues to Bodø/Glimt’s opponent.

The Tottenham coach believes it is a pattern of defeat that should not really result in defeat.

“It has hurt us all year. We have let ourselves down. It’s a game we should have won, and this is another one of those this season,” Postecoglou said.

Okay, what can Bodø/Glimt get out of this?

Tottenham are playing well, but are falling into a pattern where players are so low on confidence that even games where the game suggests Spurs will win, end in defeat.

This is something underdog Bodø/Glimt can exploit with full pressure from the start for some quick and shocking goals in London, May 1. Then you will see the Tottenham players get stressed and slip into their usual “losing pattern” from the Premier League.
