Christian Romero has proven to be one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League, a player who is now high on Real Madrid’s wish list. It is not reassuring for Spurs supporters to hear Romero’s displeasure.
In an interview with Telemundo Deportes, Romero was asked about the quality of the Tottenham squad. The answer was more than a hint that decisions off the pitch cost when it comes to match day.

-The truth is that I would say “no comments”, but… Manchester City competes every year, you see how Liverpool are strengthening their squad, Chelsea are strengthening their squad, not doing well, strengthening again, and now they’re seeing results. That’s the way it has to be done. You have to realise that something is going wrong, hopefully they (Spurs management) realise that,” Romero begins.
-In recent years, it has always been the same: first the players, then the coaching staff changes, and it is always the same responsible. Hopefully they realize who are the true responsible and we move on, because it’s a great club that, with the structure it has, can easily compete for the title every year,” Romero said.
