The details of what Tottenham Hotspur are willing to offer Bryan Mbeumo have come to light, while Thomas Frank is trying to hijack Manchester United’s transfer. Of three crucial factors, two are in Spurs’ favour.
Thomas Frank close to Tottenham job – wants to bring Bryan Mbeumo with him
Frank is on his way to replace Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham manager. Negotiations are already underway, and the Dane is eager to take the next step in his career with a “Big Six” club like Spurs.
A transition could have been done a long time ago!

According to The Mirror, one of Frank’s first actions as the new Spurs boss could be to abort United’s attempts to sign Mbeumo.
United’s bid vs. Brentford’s demand
The 25-year-old striker has previously shown his willingness to sign for Manchester United rather than Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham.
United have made two bids, with the highest being £60 million (£50 million fixed + £10 million in bonuses). Brentford’s dream price is £70 million, but they are willing to negotiate around £62.5 million (experts believe) – the same amount United paid for Matheus Cunha.
Everything looked promising for United, but now that Frank is days away from becoming Tottenham manager, the situation has changed.

Tottenham’s offer – lower salary, but two big advantages
According to the Sunday Mirror, Tottenham are ready to go for Mbeumo, but with a lower salary offer than United:
- Tottenham offer around £130,000 in weekly wages
- United’s offer is between £150,000-200,000
On the surface, Spurs seem to have little chance, but two factors speak in their favour:
- Thomas Frank’s influence – He has developed Mbeumo into a feared attacking player, and their teamwork could be crucial.
- Champions League football – Tottenham secured their place in the Champions League at United’s expense after beating them in the Europa League final.
Who will win the battle for Mbeumo?
Mbeumo is willing to choose United even without the Champions League, but if Frank can persuade him to reconsider, Tottenham may have a chance.
If Spurs had matched United’s wage offer, they would have had a triple advantage. But with today’s reports, it is still United who have the financial advantage.
Now it remains to be seen whether Frank’s presence and CL football outweigh United’s higher wages. The battle is on!
