On Thursday morning, Alexander-Arnold was officially presented as the club’s second summer signing during a ceremony at the club’s training facility, Real Madrid City.

During the presentation, members of the Spanish press, club officials and the player’s family watched a highlight video from his time at Liverpool, before Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez praised his new signing as one of the world’s best players.

Shortly after, Alexander-Arnold himself took the floor in front of the press to say his first words as a Real Madrid player – and instantly shocked the whole room by delivering the speech in perfect Spanish.

“A dream come true”
On stage at Real Madrid, the 26-year-old stated that signing for the Spanish big club was a dream come true, and thanked the club for the opportunity to win titles.

“Thank you to everyone for this opportunity. Signing for Madrid doesn’t happen every day,” he said in Spanish.

“It’s a dream come true. I’m really looking forward to showing my game to Real Madrid fans.”

“I’m aware of the responsibilities that come with playing here. I’m going to give everything to show my game and win a lot of titles.”

“Thank you very much, and ¡Hala Madrid!”

Florentino Pérez: “We have signed a legend”Before Alexander-Arnold’s comments,
the Real Madrid president had congratulated the defender on his transfer and named him one of the world’s best.

“We have signed a legend, one of the best in the world,” Pérez claimed.

“Trent’s dream has come true. You have chosen to play for Real Madrid, the biggest club in the world.”

Although it is not yet known exactly when Alexander-Arnold will make his debut for the Spanish league club, it is likely that it could happen as early as June 18 during Real Madrid’s Club World Cup match against Saudi side Al Hilal.
