After Brann lost to Bryne earlier on Sunday, a unique opportunity opened up for Tromsø to approach the Bergens in third place – and the home team did not let the chance pass them by.
Early goal celebration guaranteed the victory
It all started perfectly for “Gutan” when Jens Hjertø-Dahl scored the 1-0 goal after only a quarter of an hour. Before the half-hour had been played, Ieltsin Camões had sealed his hat-trick and sent Tromsø into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead.

In the second half, Lars Olden Larsen made it 4-0 and removed all doubts about where the long-awaited three points would end up.
Historic opportunity in sight
With this win, Tromsø is now only a single point behind Brann in third place, with three league rounds left to play. The clear victory also ensures that the club from the north can already look forward to European Cup play in the 2025 season as well.
A small damper on the celebration came just before the end, when top scorer Jens Hjertø-Dahl had to leave the field injured. Nevertheless, it was overall a historic day for Tromsø IL, who are now strongly placed in the fight for a podium position.
