The Danish striker made history in the Premier League as the youngest player with 6 league goals in a row. This is what the 22-year-old is now leaving behind in terms of history at Manchester United. Sent on loan to Antonio Conte and Napoli, it looks like Hojlund will not return to Old Trafford. If Napoli manage to keep enough opponents behind them in Serie A, it is guaranteed.
Napoli have negotiated a lease deal, where Manchester United were looking for a permanent exit on Hojlund and much-needed sales revenue into the club’s coffers. No club was willing to meet the demand of the Premier League club, with negotiations dragging on until Deadline Day, Napoli stretched to accept the obligation to buy, but have put in a lifeline.

According to The Athletic, Napoli will have to pay €44 million for the Danish striker at the end of the season. No club was willing to pay this amount this summer, but Napoli have calculated that the transfer can be carried with qualification for the Champions League next season. The English media claims that the obligation to buy will only be activated if reigning league champion Napoli secures one of the CL tickets in Serie A.
The Manchester United management hopes for both Hojlund’s success and that Napoli do the job with a CL ticket they themselves will struggle with.
