Bayern Munich boss Jan-Christian Dreesen traveled to London on Thursday for a face-to-face meeting with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to discuss a deal for Spurs captain Harry Kane.
Both offers from Bayern have been rejected and Tottenham stand by their position that Kane is not for sale. Tottenham sources say the meeting was not just about Kane. It is understood that Levy did not offer Dreesen any price and did not suggest or encourage him to accept any offer. Despite Levy’s stance, Bayern are still expected to make a third bid, which would be a club record bid, as the Bavarian giant is confident Kane wants a move to the Allianz Arena.
Levy accepts and understands why Kane is tempted by other clubs. As a counter-attack, he made it clear to the captains’ camp that they would make him one of the highest-paid players in Europe if he signed a new contract. Kane, for his part, has confirmed to the club that he is going on their Asia-Pacific pre-season tour while his representatives continue to hold talks with various parties.
Kane returned to training this week and met new Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou for the first time, with club sources saying the initial meetings were very positive.
