The battle to sign Brentford’s attacking star Bryan Mbeumo is intensifying, with two new Premier League clubs now expressing their interest.
Manchester United’s first bid rejected coughs up a new offer of over £60m
Earlier in June, it was reported that the French-born Cameroonian preferred a move to Manchester United over other interested clubs. According to journalist Duncan Castles, United first made a bid for £45 million plus £10 million in bonuses, but this was rejected by Brentford.

Now, United have come back with an improved offer worth over £60 million. But the competition is getting tougher, as both Newcastle United and Aston Villa have expressed their interest in the 24-year-old striker. Brentford expect to get £70 million for their star this summer.
Tottenham are still in the mix after Brentford manager Thomas Frank announced a transfer a few days ago.
Amorim frustrated with slow transition activity
According to The Star, newly appointed United manager Rúben Amorim is frustrated with the club’s lack of progress in the transfer market. He identified several goalkeepers months ago, but apart from the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, little has happened.
What positions will United reinforce?
The Manchester Evening News reports that United want to sign the club.
- Two new attackers (Mbeumo is a priority, along with Viktor Gyökeres, Victor Osimhen or Hugo Ekitike)
- A midfielder (Christian Eriksen will leave the club when his contract expires)
- A new goalkeeper (to challenge André Onana, with Altay Bayindir linked to Besiktas)
