The Manchester United bosses should not be rushed. The decision on who will lead the Red Devils at the match venue next season will not be made until after the end of the season, reports Sky Sports. This strategy sounds reasonable, but could cost United more candidates.
On Thursday, Thomas Tuchel signed a new contract with the English Football Association. This means that one of Ratcliffe’s and the gang’s favorite candidates is unavailable. The contract was supposed to expire in the summer, now it is extended with Tuchel until after the European Championship on home soil in 2028. It was Tuchel, then to PSG’s success coach.

Luis Enrique has won nine major trophies during his time with Barcelona, including the Champions League in 2015. At PSG, there have been 10 more trophies – including last season’s triumph in the Champions League. It is widely known that Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazers really love Enrique as a coach, with the Spaniard being one of Man Utd’s main targets. It is claimed that United representatives have already been in Paris for talks with Enrique.
The PSG contract expires after the 2026/27 season, it is rumored that United will try to persuade the Spaniard not to sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 giant.
The Daily Mirror claims Enrique will not be persuaded to choose Manchester United anyway, a job that is not perceived as “the right project for him”. The 55-year-old has been in discussions with PSG’s sporting director Luis Campos over a new contract at the Parc des Princes, which will keep him in the French capital until 2030. Enrique has a strong relationship with Campos, who has also just signed a contract extension.
When the time comes for him to leave PSG, it is said that he will prefer a second spell as manager at Barca, rather than go to the Premier League and Manchester United.
It was Enrique, then to job seeker Roberto de Zerbi.
On Wednesday night, Marseille and De Zerbi finished their working relationship by “mutual agreement”. The Italian is said to have been considered for the United job in the past, and is expected to be one of the candidates for the job again, where the Premier League return seems to be tempting for the former Brighton manager.
But not sure this return will be with Man Utd.

According to The i paper’s sources “close to De Zerbi”, the Italian is interested in the Tottenham job, where he sees the Spurs job as the next logical step in his coaching career. The English media reports De Zerbo is also high on the United bosses’ waiting list, but if Tottenham act quickly, while United are to let things fall into place in the summer, De Zerbi could also be out of the picture for Man Utd.
