The teams of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have finally reached an agreement. As both sides announced on social media, the two boxers will soon clash, which will determine the first undisputed world heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.
On Friday, information appeared that shocked the boxing world. The unification fight between Fury and Usyk is scheduled to take place soon in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
On October 28, Fury will fight Ngannou in the same place. Usyk also fought in the Saudi country in the past – last August in Jeddah he defeated Joshua for the second time, defending his championship title.
Although the date of the fight between the two heavyweight champions has not been announced yet, it is said to be December 23. Much may depend on how the fight between “Gypsy King” and Ngannou goes. Although the WBC belt will not be on the line, and Fury is a clear favorite, he still needs to leave the ring in a condition that will allow him to quickly start preparing for one of the biggest fights of the 21st century.
The last holder of all the major heavyweight belts was Lennox Lewis. In November 1999, the Briton defeated Evander Holyfield, adding the WBA and IBF belts previously held by the American to his WBC belt, as well as the vacant IBO federation title.
