Yesterday, Tuesday, the news came that Marti Cifuentes has been sent on “gardening leave” Queens Park Rangers. The former Sandefjord and Hammarby coach is now practically unemployed, but he still receives a salary, after his relationship with the management broke down.
Shortly after, The Telegraph reported that league rivals West Bromwich were interested in hiring the Spaniard. An official contact between the parties was expected to take place shortly.

But now Sky Sports reports that this will not be the case. West Bromwich, who are currently in tenth place in the Championship, have chosen to reject Cifuentes and will not hire him as their new manager.
West Bromwich sacked their manager, Tony Mowbray, earlier, and several candidates are being considered for the vacant position. But Marti Cifuentes is not one of them.
Cifuentes took over as coach of QPR almost 1.5 years ago, after leaving Hammarby. QPR are currently in mid-table in the Championship.
