We remember last season where youngster Harvey Elliot was on the pitch for 53 games and received his bear hugs and praise from Jürgen Klopp. This summer, the central midfielder headed into the new season knowing that he had made his breakthrough. Six months later, the 21-year-old is linked to exit.

What happened? Arne Slot started with Elliott on the bench, then came the awkward fracture in his foot in September. Back from injury, Elliott has so far only 147 minutes in nine games. 11, 3, 1, 16, 4. These are minutes Arne Slot has given the Klopp favourite in the last five Premier League games.

Sky Sports reports several clubs have picked up on signs that something may be going on, and are keeping an eye on the 21-year-old’s situation. Specifically, Brighton and Borussia Dortmund have expressed their interest in the energetic, central midfielder.

Brighton have a good tradition of bringing in Liverpool players on exit. Adam Lallana in 2020, James Milner in 2023. Elliott of course wants to continue living out the dream in the red shirt, but without playing time, it doesn’t help much to represent the club in his heart.

We are eagerly following the process further.
