In 2018, Manchester United brought in Diogo Dalot from Porto. With the exception of a loan spell at AC Milan in the 2020/21 season, the Portuguese has seen United managers come and go. The breakthrough came to the right-back under Erik ten Hag, when Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s attacking shortcomings sent the Solskjaer favourite to the bench. Now Dalot firmly believes Manchester United are on track for the long-awaited Premier League title.

Dalot was a given in the starting eleven for Ten Hag, the same for Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese is the player who plays just as naturally at right-back and midfield, as on the left. After almost two months with Amorim at the helm, Dalot is anything but pessimistic after a historically weak start for a United manager. Contrary.

When asked how far Manchester United can go with Ruben Amorim, Dalot’s answer was crystal clear.

“To be honest, I think we can win the Premier League under this manager. Realistically, we can win the title,” Dalot begins to the club’s website.

Before he shows understanding for the long-term suffering of the supporters in the stands.

-.. But now comes something that is difficult to hear as a supporter: It will take time. I understand how you feel. I know this club is hungry for trophies and I know everyone wants to win,” Dalot continues before gearing up.

“I think we can win the Premier League, but we also have to create an environment where the manager has everything he wants from his players.” We have to adapt to his system, and that will take time,” Dalot said.

Diogo Dalot definitely has faith in what Amorim has shown on the training ground, in the dressing room and along the sidelines.
