Victor Osimhen is warming up to the idea of signing for Galatasaray permanently, but a deal is financially “impossible” as things stand now.

The Napoli sharpshooter is spending the season on loan in Istanbul after transfers to Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Al-Ahli fell through in the summer. Osimhen has a January half-time clause in his deal, potentially allowing him to get the big transfer after all, but he has already emphatically ruled out leaving Galatasaray mid-season.

In contrast to Fenerbache manager Jose Mourinho, Victor Osimhen is doing very well in Turkey. Galatasaray lead the Süper Lig by a good margin over Fenerbache.

“I’m here as a Galatasaray player, I’m happy to be here,” he said earlier this month. “Since I arrived, the Galatasaray fans, the club, I have seen how big a family this club is. The way they have treated me and my family in a wonderful way.

“It’s important to be able to give them everything on the pitch. I’ve seen a lot of the speculation that linked me out of the club in January, I can say through myself that I’m now going to be here until the end of the season.”

Osimhen has scored a whopping eight goals and four assists in nine games so far, so Gala are unsurprisingly desperate to keep him for the long term. But is this possible?

According to Sky Germany, it is an ‘impossible’ dream for financial reasons. Although Osimhen himself is ambitious and wants to play in a European elite league, he warms up the idea of a permanent stay in Turkey.

The 25-year-old enjoys the role of fan-favorite and loves life at Galatasaray, having settled in very well. The player can be convinced to complete a permanent swap.

However, the problem is a money. Osimhen’s new release clause stands at a whopping 75 million euros and this is a sum that Galatasaray could not muster in their wildest dreams. The club’s current record is midfielder Gabriel Sara, who cost €18 million this summer.

Therefore, as the situation is, an agreement is considered “impossible.” But this does not mean that Galatasaray will not try. Initial talks about a potential transfer have already taken place, and the club may try to get creative. A cash-plus-player deal has been suggested as a potential solution.
