Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Vitor Pereira has revealed that he has been “told” that Jørgen Strand Larsen will stay at Molineux.
On Saturday afternoon, Wolves suffered their third consecutive Premier League defeat of the season when they lost 3-2 to Everton.

With eight goals conceded in defeats to Manchester City, Bournemouth and the Toffees, there are real concerns about the quality of Wolves’ defence. Nevertheless, it is the future of the Norwegian star striker Strand Larsen that remains the hottest topic of debate, as the Norwegian international has been linked with Newcastle United.
Although the Magpies signed Nick Woltemade on Saturday, they are still looking for another number nine, while it has been claimed that Strand Larsen has asked to join the North East giants.
Vitor Pereira comments on the rumors surrounding Strand Larsen.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game on Saturday, Pereira hinted that the 25-year-old is about to continue his career at Wolves for the foreseeable future.
The Portuguese said: “I hope so. He is an important player. Today, if he played, his quality could have given us something more.”
“We are not in a situation where we can sell our best players. The information I have is that he wants to stay with us.”
Strand Larsen was absent from the squad for the Everton game due to what has been described as a minor injury.
Hwang Hee-chan played central to the attack and scored Wolves’ first goal, but it is the South Korean international’s only goal in the top flight of 2025.
Although Wolves have laid out clear lines when it comes to keeping Strand Larsen at the club, they know that an offer over the £60 million they have already turned down could come.
Liverpool have reportedly set up a £130m deal for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, and Eddie Howe will need a replacement.
Brentford’s Yoane Wissa could ultimately prove to be Newcastle’s preference given his lower valuation and added versatility across the attacking line.
Still, Wolves’ role model could be alert to market opportunities in the unlikely event that they could sign a realistic replacement for their leading goalscorer.
