The Red Devil’s legend has this summer’s shopping list ready.
Wayne Rooney has identified the three signings he thinks Manchester United should make when the summer transfer window opens, two of which have never played for the club before.
The former United striker has been prominent in the media since leaving his position as manager of Plymouth Argyle by mutual agreement on New Year’s Eve.

This followed periods as boss of Derby County, DC United and Birmingham City – all clubs with problems he had to deal with that were beyond his control.
Rooney is regularly asked about Manchester United now that he is back in the media round, and with his manager’s hat on, he gets to say who he thinks they should bring in in the transfer market.
Goalkeeper Andre Onana has had a difficult season in a miserable United team this season, and a new goalkeeper is at the top of Rooney’s wish list.
“I would probably bring back David De Gea,” the former United and England striker told Amazon Prime Video Sport. “I think Manchester United have missed him and I think he could still do a very good job for Manchester United.”
De Gea went an entire season without playing after he was brutally thrown out of United when contract negotiations were abruptly interrupted.
While his replacement has failed miserably, De Gea has mostly returned to form with Fiorentina in Serie A.
With Rasmus Hojlund’s goal drought, United also need help at the other end. Rooney also has his eyes on a striker.
“The other player I would sign is [Victor] Osimhen at number 9. I think he’s a very good striker and possibly available,” Rooney said.
The Nigerian is on loan to Galatasaray after his relationship with parent club Napoli deteriorated. As Rooney points out, he could well be available this summer.
“And the third player – it would be difficult – but I would probably try to sign [Marc] Guehi from Crystal Palace as a centre-back. I think he could have had a really good impact on the club.”
United have had a terrible season in the Premier League. Manager Erik ten Hag was dismissed and replaced by Ruben Amorim, but they have not improved noticeably.
