The United Cup is a mixed-sex team competition, launched in 2022. The event returns this year. It will last from December 29, 2023, to January 7, 2024, and will take place in Perth and Sydney. We have just met the top seeds in this year’s edition of the tournament.
The United Cup is an international tennis tournament played in Australian cities, featuring mixed-gender teams from 18 countries. This is the first team competition for women and men that offers its players points in both the ATP and WTA rankings. The first United Cup event took place between December 2022 and January 2023. This year the tournament returns. We know which countries were seeded 1, 2 and 3.
The team seeded number 1 in the upcoming edition of the United Cup is the Polish national team. Experts believe that this place was given to Poland because of its representatives Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz, who are currently leaders in world tennis. In addition to Świątek and Hurkacz, the Polish team included, among others: finalist of the doubles Australian Open 2023 Jan Zieliński. A year ago, the Polish national team reached the semi-finals of the competition. The Greeks will be seeded two, and the United States will be seeded number three.
