The Danish international was weighed too lightly at Tottenham, a club that in the last two seasons without Hojbjerg finished first in 17th place in the Premier League, this season in danger of relegation. At Marseille, there is little doubt that Hojbjerg is appreciated. According to L’Équipe, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is this year’s salary king at Marseille with an estimated monthly salary of 500,000 euros before tax.

This makes the Dane the highest-paid non-PSG player in Ligue 1 and shares 13th place overall.
Salaries have never been higher at Marseille, who are second in the newspaper’s calculation – PSG are at the top.
The average salary at Marseille is €300,000 per month, which puts them clearly ahead of rivals such as Stade Rennais FC (€118,000), Lyon (€110,000) and RC Lens (€80,000). Ousmane Dembélé is the player who earns the most in France.
