He is a legend in Serie A with 201 goals. On the Italian national team, he has 17 goals. Six months after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over the reins at Besiktas, Ciro Immobile is being weighed too lightly.
There was a lot of fuss in the Besiktas part of Istanbul when the club had convinced the Lazio star to move to the Süper Lig. Here he went with 8 league goals in 8 games and everything was just fun and games. Then he squeezed out just three goals in the next fourteen games. Solskjaer took over as Besiktas coach in January, and it was clear that the club’s best paid did not play up to expectations.

The Turkish media has used disaster headlines time and time again when describing Ciro Immobile’s contribution to the Besiktas game. Although the Italian has 19 goals in 41 games, the 35-year-old has been scolded for a lack of pace, especially after Solskjaer football was introduced at Besiktas.
The Italian has one year left on his contract, but according to Turkish Fanatics, Besiktas are so keen to make room for a new striker that they let the 35-year-old go to Bologna for free. This says a lot about how hard Solskjaer is pushing for a new striker. Tough, but necessary.
On Sunday, Sky Sports followed up by reporting that Immobile is close to signing with Bologne, where a one-year contract with an option for another season awaits.
