Three friendlies completed in the United States. Win against West Ham, same against Bournemouth, draw against Everton. The result means nothing in friendly matches, say those who lose. For Manchester United, it’s about showing their own supporters that they have the power, ability and will to “avenge” the historically weak 15th place in the Premier League last season. A French teenager stands as the players’ spokesman.
When Leny Yoro was brought in from Lille last summer, it was like a slightly unhinged 18-year-old. A year later, the now 19-year-old centre-back is anything but unhinged. Mentally, Yoro also shows he is ready to represent United in the mammoth task this season.

“There are many who want us to fail, and we know that,” Yoro begins.
“But there are also many who want us to succeed, who want us to do great things. We only focus on the supporters, you see, it comes from the young player.
– Everyone talked shit about us last year. But I get it, we just weren’t good enough, but this season will be different, I hope. We don’t have to listen to all that, we just have to focus on ourselves. When you play for Manchester United, you have to have the attitude of being the best version of yourself,” the Frenchman continues.
Who will use last season for what it’s worth.
“This season will be like a kind of revenge for what we delivered last year. We simply have to do better.
The Manchester United supporters are ready. The preseason also shows that the players are starting to get ready.
