Celtic management brought in Wilfried Nancy from MLS for the head coaching job in early December. Martin O’ Neill had done the job as a substitute, now the Frenchman was going to show what he knew about Scottish football. 33 days, 8 games and 6 losses later, Nancy was history with the Scottish big club. Now it is reported that the former successful coach in MLS is working to stay on the ball island, this time further south.
Celtic have a “rich” history of sacking their coach when there are no titles, but Nancy became the symbol of a new impatience in the Scottish big club. No coach in the club’s history had been fired after such a short time. This does not seem to scare Wigan Athletic.

On Saturday, Wigan sacked Ryan Lowe after the terrible 6-1 loss to Peterborough.
A run of one win in their last 10 League One games sent the proud club that won the FA Cup final against Manchester City in 2013 free-falling down the table to 22nd place in the table, two points above the relegation zone. According to Football-Insider’s sources , Nancy is now the favourite to take over as the new Wigan manager.
