Long live social media. When you are a friend of a player the football world is watching, what is happening and not happening, you suddenly have a platform to make yourself known. Unfortunately, we have to disappoint Cole Palmer’s friend ….., with Sporten.com it’s the content, not the name, that interests us. Especially when the link to Manchester United reappears for one of England’s best attacking players.
Manchester United are building for the long run. England internationals are high on the wish list of one of the 2023/24 season’s best attacking players in the Premier League end up at Old Trafford, reports the Manchester Evening News, which claims the 23-year-old is homesick.

Cole Palmer was the Manchester City boy who did not accept Pep Guardiola’s plan for playing time. The attacking midfielder thought he was ready now, pushed for an exit and signed with Chelsea in the autumn of 2023. In his debut season, Palmer surprised the whole ball island. With 34 Premier League appearances, 22 goals and 11 assists, Palmer slammed down the door to stardom in the Premier League. PFA Young Player of the Year, England Men’s Player of the Year, FSA Men’s Player of the Year, Premier League Player of the Month (April and September 2024), Young Player of the Season and Castrol Game Changer, were awards that confirmed the player’s status in England.
So to Palmer’s friend, who is currently on a Dubai trip with Palmer. When the friend posted the picture of the two with a caption, the English media woke up.
“One day I’m going to get CP (Cole Palmer) to Utd, home where he belongs. Ask him what his favorite team is.” The text came followed by a red devil and a football.

The Daily Express ran the analysis at the end of January about Palmer signing with Manchester United:
“Sure, it would take a hefty transfer fee, most likely over £100 million, to secure his signature. Not to mention a massive salary and a promise that he will start all the big games. Palmer could be just the kind of posterboy United’s hierarchy needs to really get the INEOS era going. When Ratcliffe arrived at Old Trafford, he made a promise to United fans that the best British talents would flock to join their team. There are few bigger or better in the world of football right now than Palmer. It just makes perfect sense.”
For his friend, it also makes perfect sense, the same for a lot of Man Utd supporters.
