“We’ve made real progress over the last few weeks and I’m looking forward to continuing our work on the training pitch over the next few months.

I’m very excited for the rest of the season and hope that you #Bluebirds fans are looking forward to joining us.”

Cardiff owner Vincent Tan commented on the announcement:

“We have clearly seen a change for the better in playing style and performance during Omer’s time as interim manager with some encouraging results. After careful consideration over the last few weeks as to what was the best decision for the club and this squad, I am very happy to be able to give Omer this opportunity and wish him the best of luck.

Omer Riza’s assignment at Cardiff is the Englishman’s third head coaching job. Riza has previously managed Leyton Orient and non-league club Chesnut.
