It’s been a long time since the French superstar Paul Pogba was really good, I think we have to go all the way back to the World Cup in Russia in the summer of 2018 to see greatness from that side. The World Cup winner has since then bothered Manchester United and Juventus fans with being very uneven and injured.

Paul Pogba, who has not been physically and mentally present for the past two years, is in talks about a lucrative comeback.

In 2023, the French midfielder was banned from football after dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) was detected in his system – a substance that stimulates the production of hormones, including testosterone.

One thing is for sure! – There won’t be a return to Manchester United this time.

Originally, Pogba was given a four-year suspension, but after an appeal, the sentence was reduced to just 18 months. In March this year, the ban officially ended, which means that the 32-year-old is now ready to play again.

After his contract with Juventus was terminated, Pogba has been without a club.

Although he has been linked with clubs in Europe, Saudi Arabia and the United States, no deals have materialized – until now. It is DC United who are now really going to hit the big drum and secure what could be one of the world’s best midfielders. DC United shows interest – talks underway

On Monday night, it was reported that DC United from Major League Soccer (MLS) are interested in signing the Frenchman.

According to The Athletic, DC United owns the “discovery rights” of the clubless midfielder:

DC United chose not to comment on the matter when contacted by The Athletic.

What are discovery rights?

According to Sports Illustrated, a Discovery List gives an MLS club the opportunity to secure the rights of a player if he wants to join the league.

Clubs must add players to their roster and check with the league that they are not already on another club’s roster.

The goal of the scheme is to prevent the richest clubs in MLS from outbidding everyone else for the most in-demand players.

Also interested in Kevin De Bruyne

In addition to Pogba, it has been reported that DC United are also interested in Kevin De Bruyne, who will leave Manchester City at the end of the season. But Inter Miami currently owns the discovery rights to the Belgian midfielder.
