Manchester United and Ruben Amorim have sent strong signals to Rasmus Hojlund that he cannot expect playing time at the club. This was clearly shown in the Premier League opener against Arsenal. Benjamin Sesko had barely been assigned a locker room at the club before he was sent out to the match arena for his Premier League debut. United need to free up Hojlund’s place in the squad and in the salary budget, the very best thing would be a solid sales income for the 22-year-old. The Dane refuses to budge, this week even AC Milan’s interest.

Højlund intends to fight for the place, reports English media. AC Milan have in recent weeks been very interested in bringing the Dane to the San Siro, but have been stopped by United. The Serie A club tried to get a loan deal with an option to buy with Højlund. It didn’t work. According to Sky Sports, Milan will instead turn to Bayer Leverkusen.

Here, a lease agreement is being negotiated for Victor Boniface with a buy-in option of around 30 million euros, where the signals are positive, reports the medium.

One of the last exit doors for Højlund is closing. It remains to be seen whether Napoli will turn to Manchester United to use the 22-year-old as a replacement for an injured Romelu Lukaku.
