Bournemouth, who are neither in gold nor in the relegation battle in the Premier League, have decided to secure Bournemouth secure Alex Jimenez on a permanent basis.

Bournemouth, who are led by one of the candidates for the Manchester United job this autumn, Andoni Iraola, are currently in 11th place in the Premier League after a 1-1 draw at home at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday against Aston Villa.

Bournemouth have made the loan stay of AC Milan winger Alex Jimenez permanent. The club has triggered the purchase option in the deal.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Saturday night that AC Milan will receive €19 million, with an additional €5 million in bonuses depending on performance criteria.

The transfer marks the end of an Italian stay that did not go as planned for Jimenez. The Spaniard found it challenging to fully establish himself in the Rossoneri’s first-team squad.

In England, the picture has been completely different. At Bournemouth, Jimenez has become a regular first-team player in the Premier League, and has shown his versatility by playing in several different positions on the wings.

The sale gives Milan a financial boost

With a potential total income of up to €24 million from the sale, Milan will have significantly more room in their finances to reinforce their squad this summer.

The club was linked with a number of players in the winter window, and was very close to a deal with Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.

However, the transfer ran aground due to the club’s strict medical examinations, which the Frenchman did not pass.

Now, with a solid sale from Bournemouth in place, Milan can instead use the time until the summer to plan and secure their primary goals for strengthening the squad.
