Erling Haaland shows no rush to leave Manchester City. This does not stop their rivals in La Liga, who have not quite gotten over the fact that they lost the battle for the extreme striker back in 2022, when the Norwegian light bulb’s agent “offered” the striker’s services to the biggest clubs in the football circus. Real Madrid have since been working on a plan to sign Haaland the day he starts thinking about leaving Manchester City. This week, the 25-year-old has also become part of Barcelona’s presidential campaign.
Victor Font is a candidate against the current club president in a vote for the position of new Barcelona president. According to Sport , Font is actively working to strengthen his candidacy by signing Erling Haaland.

The Spanish newspaper claims Carles Planchart and Xavier Aguilar, who are leading members of Font’s team, held talks with Manchester City representatives on Wednesday. Their goal has been to secure a preferential purchase option for Erling Haaland, which will give Barcelona the advantage in signing the Norwegian superstar when the time comes for him to leave the Premier League club.
If Font’s team manages to reach an agreement with Man City before this weekend’s vote, it could prompt some members to choose him instead of Laporta. This week, he has also promised to bring back Pep Guardiola as the club’s manager when the time comes, and given how big these names are, it could be convincing for some to go for him as Barcelona’s next president, it is reported.
