The 61-year-old Argentine has a past as a coach at clubs such as FC Barcelona and Atlanta United, just as he has been the national coach of both Paraguay, Argentina and Mexico.

Inter Miami wants another Barcelona legend, not as a player but as a manager.

Marca reports Barcelona icon Xavi Hernandez is close to taking over Inter Miami, which would be his first assignment after leaving Barcelona earlier this year.

Xavi was in charge of Barcelona between November 2021 and the summer of 2024. He has also led Al-Sadd between 2019 and 2021.
