Xavi Hernandez has been out of work since he was sacked from Barcelona last summer, but now he is preparing to return to the world of football. During his sabbatical, he has been linked with several clubs, and now he has taken the opportunity to reveal his thoughts on the next chapter of his career.
Not sure about training in Spain again due to the pressure
In an interview with The Athletic, Xavi opened up about his future plans. He expressed a desire to work in England, but is less interested in a return to Spain due to the enormous pressure coaches are under there.

“There is no rush on my part, but I want a good project. In other words, something like: ‘You have four years to build something.’ I really want to work in the Premier League because I love the passion there. In Spain, it’s too much about the results.”
“Just look at what has happened to Ancelotti (at Real Madrid) – he is being criticised. That is not fair. He has won 30 trophies in 10 years, and yet he is treated as if he has achieved nothing. Valverde said it perfectly when he said: ‘If Ancelotti is criticised, what hope is there for the rest of us?'”

Xavi had a varied spell as Barcelona manager. He won La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup in his first season, but it ultimately ended in a bitter way. In retrospect, he realizes that he took things too personally during his stay.
“I’m ready to suffer again, but I don’t think it can get any worse than what I experienced in Barcelona. It was too emotional for me, because I was also a supporter.”
“It’s different for Hansi (Flick). He doesn’t speak Spanish, and he’s not a Barcelona supporter. I told him, ‘Don’t pay attention to anything in the media, or you’ll go crazy. Just focus on the team, because if you’re from here, you’re suffering a lot.'”
