Bournemouth travelled to the Etihad as the second best club in the Premier League after 9 league rounds and played Manchester City brimming with confidence. However, it was a Norwegian bright bang that sunk the away team. After the game, Bournemouth’s right winger put into words what faced his team.

In Haaland’s debut season at Manchester City, the English media highlighted the “otherworldly” label on the Norwegian striker, as he as a debutant hammered in 36 goals in 35 games in the world’s toughest league. The Bournemouth players can attest to this, after Sunday’s 3-1 loss to City with two Haaland goals in the first half. This was the 12th and 13th goals of the league in 10 Premier League games.

“We try to press, but Manchester City are so comfortable with the ball. In the first half we created a lot of chances for ourselves through the pressure, but their big man up top (Haaland) will always be a threat. It is almost impossible (to prepare for him). He’s 196cm tall, strong and a huge threat when the ball comes to him,” said Bournemouth player David Brooks.

Always a threat. Impossible to prepare for Haaland. Almost impossible to stop when he gets the ball. We love it!
