Work is in high gear in Barcelona these days. The La Liga title is celebrated, the downer is having to watch the Champions League final from a screen and not on the final pitch. In familiar Barcelona style, work is being done in parallel with a bunch of big signings, where the financial creativity is great to make the financial fit into the rules for sustainable and profitable club operations. Two signings totalling 180 million will make the club fit for the Champions League title.
Barcelona is busy at the moment. The goal is clearly to get ahead of the Champions League rivals and sign two players. The Catalans are already close to presenting Newcastle star Anthony Gordon as a new player in June, with the club sending around €80 million to a reluctant seller at St. James’ Park.

Gordon is highly wanted by both Bayern Munich, but it is Hansi Flick who will have to exploit the energetic striker next season.
That was the one. Barcelona have also been linked with Atletico star Julian Alvarez for a long time. Atletico are very reluctant to sell their star striker to their rivals in La Liga, but according to hyperactive transfer journalist Romano, most things are in place between the Argentine and Barca, with Barcelona slamming off a €100 million bid in the next few days. This is the player Arsenal and PSG also want.
Barcelona have clearly financially maneuvered themselves into two giant investments – or intend to use the period until the start of the season to make the solitaire work.
