Nick Kyrgios, Australian tennis player and 2022 Australian Open doubles winner, has not kept his promise and is withdrawing from Roland Garros. This is the sixth year in a row that the Australian has dropped out of the Paris Slam. This time he is not going to Paris because of knee problems.
Kyrgios underwent knee arthroscopy in January. Unfortunately, his recovery is taking longer than expected. Thus, the Australian must withdraw from the Paris Slam. He breaks his promise to his girlfriend. Kyrgios promised his beloved that this year he would finally play at Roland Garros so that she could visit the capital of France. It remains to be hoped that next year Kyrgios will finally reach Paris. This year’s withdrawal from Paris, however, is not the end of the season for the Australian.
