This winter, Yan Diomande was one of the hottest wingers on the market. The teenager made his breakthrough in the Bundesliga last season with 12 goals and 9 assists. The numbers were impressive enough in themselves. The way he gushes and plays his way forward on the right wing, constantly creating imbalances for the opposition’s defences, was even more impressive, totally fearless and always smelling of scoring every single time he got the ball. Real Madrid elbowed their way forward this summer, with what could end up being €140 million in transfer fees. In 2027, it’s all about another RB Leipzig winger with the same extreme qualities. This is “our man”, Antonio Nusa.
Even before the World Cup, several clubs showed interest in the young, Norwegian winger. During and after the World Cup, Nusa was specifically on the block at Arsenal and several other Premier League clubs. The 21-year-old stayed at RB Leipzig, which turns out to be a very good choice. Because after the World Cup came continuity in high-level deliveries – also in the club shirt.

RB Leipzig coach Ole Werner sees the 21-year-old on the training ground and match ground regularly, he told ZDF: “Nusa is a player who will be world-class in the near future.” Several Premier League clubs are now seeing the same thing.
We let English Caughtoffside draw an analysis of the pressure from the Premier League, this time from Newcastle’s perspective.
“Newcastle United may have another opportunity to sign Antonio Nusa, but the price of signing the RB Leipzig winger continues to rise. The Magpies have been keeping tabs on Nusa before, including in the summer transfer window, without turning their interest into a formal bid.”
“That decision could now prove costly, as the 21-year-old has continued to develop in Germany and strengthened his reputation with Norway at the World Cup. Arsenal appear to be serious contenders, while Aston Villa have also been credited with interest, meaning Newcastle may have to be active if they want him in 2027.”

“Nusa gives defenders problems with his speed, close control and willingness to attack one-on-one. He can operate from the left but also operate centrally, which would give Matthias Jaissle another flexible attacking option. His latest performance only strengthens the argument that Newcastle should act quickly. Nusa scored and provided an assist as Leipzig crushed Eintracht Frankfurt 6-0, on October 10.

“That’s the danger for Newcastle: that every strong performance pushes his valuation higher and attracts another big club. £60 million is serious money for a 21-year-old, but Newcastle would buy potential as much as immediate production on the match scene. Nusa already has Bundesliga, Champions League and international experience, but still has a lot of room for improvement. If Newcastle really see him as a long-term attacking target, waiting another year could make the deal even more difficult,” Caughtoffside concludes.
Antonio Nusa is without a doubt hot on the market for the big clubs in the Premier League. Fully deserved!
