Real Madrid are still interested in Riccardo Calafiori, but Arsenal have made it clear that it will take a very special offer to lure the Italian international away from the Emirates.
The 24-year-old has continued to develop into one of Europe’s most versatile defenders since joining from Bologna in 2024.
Calafiori is comfortable at both centre-back and left-back, and his ability to drive the ball forward and step into midfield has made him particularly valuable to manager Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal want over €100 million for Calafiori
CaughtOffside reports that Arsenal have no intention of selling Calafiori cheaply.
Real Madrid have previously contacted people close to the defender to gather information about a possible transfer, although there has been no formal offer.
Arsenal see Calafiori as a key part of Arteta’s project and will only consider opening negotiations on an offer of over €100 million.
That attitude is strengthened by his contract, which runs until June 2029, while Calafiori himself has shown no desire to push for an exit.
His estimated market value has also risen to around €65 million following his continued development in England.
Calafiori looks tailor-made for Real Madrid – Real Madrid’s interest is understandable.
Calafiori offers exactly the kind of flexibility that top clubs now demand from defenders. He can defend centrally, operate from left-back and move comfortably into midfield when Arsenal have the ball.
Arteta was already convinced of these qualities when Arsenal signed him, describing Calafiori as “a great personality and character, with specific skills that will make us stronger” on Arsenal’s official website.
That assessment seems increasingly apt. Calafiori has become more influential and has even added goals to his game this season, reinforcing Arsenal’s belief that there is little reason to cash in.
Madrid may continue to scout him, but Arsenal are in complete control. Unless a truly exceptional bid emerges, this looks more like long-term interest than an imminent transfer.
For now, Calafiori is far more valuable to Arsenal on the pitch than as another expensive departure.
