Jarrell Quansah no longer saw development opportunities at Liverpool in 2025 and applied to Bayer Leverkusen. Erik ten Hag had a guest appearance as Leverkusen coach, then Kasper Hjulmand, then Carles Martinez from July. The centre-back has not been disturbed by the coaching chaos, now the 23-year-old is being followed very closely by several clubs.
Liverpool could not offer Quansah the working conditions he needed, but the management realized the potential in the former academy player and negotiated a buy-back clause of 70 million euros. This is valid until mid-June 2027. Now more doors are opening, a return to Anfield will not necessarily be what the 23-year-old himself wants.

Because according to German Sky Sports, it is not only Chelsea and Arsenal who are following the England international closely, Real Madrid have signed up as the most eager. The La Liga giant regularly follows Quansah as they search for long-term solutions in defence and see the former Liverpool player as a candidate with significant development potential, it is reported.
