When we had started to adjust to Marcus Rashford being back at Manchester United to deliver in the red shirt, the news came that Barcelona are back on the Rashford track.
Rashford made his long-awaited comeback as a second-half substitute during United’s 4-2 defeat to AC Milan in Wroclaw before the season. The intrigue surrounding Rashford was further intensified when he was given the number nine shirt for the friendly match, a shirt usually reserved for the team’s primary centre-forward. This tactical shift came at the same time as Benjamin Sesko, who many expected to take the number this season, was sidelined due to injury.

Although United representatives were quick to stress that the shirt allocation is not considered permanent, it has undoubtedly led to discussions about Rashford’s role under Michael Carrick.
For Harry Maguire, the flashes of quality in Sunday’s game are precisely why the club must resist any temptation to make money on the 28-year-old.
-The transfer window is obviously still open. As players, we hope he stays, because if he does, he’s a great asset to have. He can definitely improve us. You saw when he came in, he threatened the backline very well. He could have scored. He’s a big threat. I’ve played with Marcus for many years and I know that playing against him and playing with him in training is going to help us,” Maguire told BBC Sport.

Barcelona have brought in Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, but according to Teamtalk , the reinforcements in the attack are not finished, and communication with Rashford’s camp has been open. Rashford himself would love to return to Catalunya, but whether United would accept a new loan proposal – even one that includes a purchase obligation – remains uncertain.
This is clearly not over.
