Marcus Rashford is now fully focused on the World Cup finals, but after the championship a potential vacuum lurks. The Manchester United contract stands, but a return to Old Trafford is unlikely for either party. Barcelona want Rashford, but have chosen not to exercise the purchase option they have in the lease. The latest message from the ball island signals that Barcelona have not decided on the England international winger. For now, it is reported that another national team winger is on the wish list.
According to hyperactive transfer journalist Romano, Barcelona have opened talks with Newcastle about Anthony Gordon, with the 25-year-old also open to a transfer. English journalist Ben Jacobs claims the La Liga giant is entering negotiations with a cap on paying £60 million. The Guardian mentions a factor that will give Gordon the extra push to choose the La Liga giant.

Puts Marcus Rashford in an uncertain situation
Because according to the English newspaper, Gordon is going to double his current Newcastle salary to around £300,000 per week! Barca still have Marcus Rashford, who is three years older, on a loan deal with an option to buy, but with Gordon’s signing, it is doubtful to say the least that it will be activated.
This could put Marcus Rashford in limbo before the start of the season.
