In 2020, young Alexander Nübel was convinced by the Bayern Munich management to choose the club, even with Manuel Neuer as the undisputed first goalkeeper, who decides for himself which games he will not play. Nübel was told he was destined for the role of crown prince, who would take on the big goalkeeper role as soon as Neuer finished his career. Six years later, Nübel is under contract until 2029, the 40-year-old Neuer is still very active – and the Bayern Munich management pushed for Nübel’s exit. On Wednesday, it was all decided.
The now 29-year-old goalkeeper has been on loan to Monaco and Stuttgart. He has spent the last three years with the latter, but has been sent back from Stuttgart this summer. At Bayern Munich, the door was also closed. Vincent Kompany already has Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig and Sven Ulreich, and therefore there is no room for Nübel. According to German Sky Sports , sporting director Max Eberl informed Nübel that he will not be attending Bayern Munich’s start on July 20.

Alexander Nübel finished at Bayern Munich and signs with Besiktas
On Wednesday comes the confirmation that Nübel is leaving the Bundesliga and has signed with Besiktas.
“Alexander Nübel is a very talented goalkeeper who has continuously developed and established himself at FC Bayern, Monaco and Stuttgart. Now he wants to take the next step at Besiktas. We wish him all the best for the future,” Bayern Munich writes dryly on their website.

Besiktas confirm that the goalkeeper has been given a three-year contract at the club, where the Turks have been pushing for speed, in order to have Nübel between the sticks for the games against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League later in July. The transfer fee ends up at up to 11 million euros, where the 29-year-old will be paid well to leave the biggest leagues. At Besiktas, around 5 million euros in annual salary ticks into the German’s account, it is reported.
