Manchester United are reported to bring in two or three midfielders in the upcoming transfer window. The first one should be a few details away from signing. A Brazilian has been flashed to replace Casemiro – for around £270,000 less in weekly wages than the Real Madrid legend.
Transfer journalist Nicola Schira reported on May 9 that Atalanta player Ederson had agreed personal terms with Manchester United, where the clubs would now sit down and agree on the transfer itself.

This week, the journalist claims that United are in the process of reaching an agreement with Atalanta on the transfer terms of a €45 million deal: “Ederson is one step away from Manchester United from Atalanta for £45 million. Contract until 2031 (annual salary around £4.3 million). Final details on some bonuses to be included in the deal, but all parties involved in the negotiations are confident that it can be terminated.”
If Schira’s information is correct, Teamtalk has calculated that Ederson will earn £82,500 a week – a “low” cost considering the player replaces Casemiro, who earned around £350,000 a week.
Ederson was not included in the World Cup squad for Brazil, has one year left on his contract at Atalanta – and is on course for Old Trafford.
