This summer, Kieran Trippier was clapped out of St. James’ Park as a football hero. The English player signed with the club in 2022, marking with the “new” Newcastle. A Newcastle that got the management and capital to raise the club from continuous mud wrestling, to a ticket in the Champions League and a title in the League Cup. Now the 35-year-old brings all his experience, mentality and continued high level of performance down to the Championship.

Wolverhampton, Jørgen Strand Larsen’s former club, has all season carried the relegation sign – which came. Now it will be built up for a quick return to the Premier League. Kieran Trippier is a type of player who is tailor-made for this journey.

On Monday, Wolves presented a two-year contract for Kieran Trippier, and chairman Nathan Shi is very pleased with the addition.

“Throughout his career, Kieran has performed at the highest level, so we are very happy that he has chosen Wolves as the next chapter in his career.

“He is a player of incredible quality, his leadership qualities are something very special, and he also has an innate will to win. In addition, his experience from the Premier League, Champions League and national team will be invaluable to our squad.

“We are aware of the challenge that awaits us in the Championship, but Kieran’s signing shows how ambitious we want to be. We look forward to having his professionalism, character and exceptionally high standards into the squad, so that he can help lead the club forward,” Nathan Shi told the club’s website.
